About The Neighbors
Name Change
We have changed our name to The Neighbors Rehab and
Healthcare Center. This name will better reflect the population
we currently serve. In 2007 we rehabilitated almost 200 new
admissions and were able to successfully send them home. We no
longer are just Long Term Care. Our Therapy to Home program
has been established for the many short term rehabilitative stays.
In addition we have an Alzheimer's program, Outpatient Therapies Day Care, and Respite
Care along with our Skilled and Intermediate care.
Philosophy of Care
The employees of the Neighbors have pledged to provide you with
courteous, efficient and professional care of the highest standards.
We endeavor to make each resident's stay as pleasant and comfortable
as possible, giving physical, emotional and spiritual care.
Retirement Care
Residents are mentally alert and able to enjoy the planned activity
program if they desire. Room, meals, laundry, and housekeeping are
provided. Routine assistance is given whenever necessary.
Intermediate Care
Residents may be somewhat confused and need assistance with bathing,
dressing, grooming, eating and walking and may be partially or totally
incontinent. They are partially dependent on us to maintain or
increase their physical abilities. Our programs are designed to
promote socialization and self esteem.
Activities
The activity program is designed to meet the individual needs of each
resident including their physical, emotional and spiritual being. The
activity director will work together with the medical staff to provide
activities that will improve or maintain abilities and desires.
Skilled Care
Residents are in need of our licensed nurses to provide specific
medical care. The attending physician and our nursing staff work
closely together to insure treatments, medications, and monitoring are
done precisely. Supportive staff in activities, social services,
dietary, laundry, housekeeping and maintenance provide services
specified for treating illness according to the medical teams'
recommendations.
Physical Rehabilitation - Restorative Nursing
Rehabilitation of residents to their maximum level of functioning is
our goal. Restorative nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy,
and other needed therapy will be used in conjunction with our daily
program. Restorative nursing will be practiced 24 hours per day 7 days
per week.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy will be implemented for all residents needing it by
order of their attending physician. Those residents who might also
benefit from direct care by a physical therapist are invited to have
an evaluation.
